About Minocqua Vintage Snowmobile Day

Welcome to Vintage Snowmobile Racing! Where else in Minocqua can you watch the fastest vintage sleds, built for straight-line and oval racing, with your family and friends? Right here in beautiful Minocqua at Area 31, a former Yamaha® snowmobile secret testing site. The Minocqua Forest Riders (MFR) are hosting our Radar Run for 12 classes of vintage snowmobiles (1985 or older) on February 21, 2026, immediately followed by an Radar Fun Run for non-vintage sleds.

Like any racing event, safety is our first priority followed by accuracy and fun. Our Vintage Radar Run (open registration) event will be on 660 feet of perfectly packed snow. MFR groomers will work on this track well in advance of the event date to ensure the most pristine conditions possible for these events.

Spectators are encouraged to attend this annual event at the Area 31 property. The Vintage Snowmobile Showcase will feature over 50 vintage sleds (1985 and older) that will be on display for all to see. The owners of these sleds have worked meticulously and will be available to share what they’ve learned over the years. There will also be a judging, including a “People’s Choice” award between 11:00am and 12:00pm.

The MFR Annual Snowmobile Raffle will also be taking place on February 21st at 5:00pm. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase throughout the day. One lucky winner will be the recipient of a brand new 2026 Ski-Doo® MXZ X-RS in Mountain Blue with 4-year warranty (or $10,000 in cash).

Raffle proceeds benefit the MFRSC trail maintenance and equipment fund.
